What To Expect / FAQ

How long do the sessions typically take?

The usual timeframe is 2 hours, but I am also really efficient. I take enough photos but won’t snap 100x a minute - each photo will be taken with care and a purpose. The only reason I block out 2 hours is for moving to spaces around the area, waiting for people to get out of the frame, etc.

When do I pay/How do I pay?

Upfront deposit is due before/day of the shoot. The remainder of the session/travel fee is due immediately following the shoot. The final images won’t be delivered until final payment is made - through Venmo/check/etc.

What happens if it rains?

If the weather is too crazy, your deposit will be put towards a re-schedule. If you don’t show up to a session, the deposit will not be refunded.

Can I bring a friend to help hype me up?

YES! Whatever helps you feel more comfortable!

How/when will I receive the files?

You will receive the final edited images within 1 week of your session. I will send them through Dropbox or Wetransfer - super easy and free. You can then send them to get printed, etc! Download link will expire after a few days, so make sure to download them asap. SAVE AND BACKUP YOUR IMAGES!

How long do you store the session images for?

I clean out files every month. I won’t be able to guarantee that I will backup all your raw session images for you.

How does the image selection process work? Do I get to select the images?

No — part of my job is selecting images and choosing the most flattering photographs. I won’t be delivering images that are repeats, out of focus, blurry, shots of you speaking or blinking. I have no reason to withhold any images if there are additional ones I think you’d enjoy!

Can I have the unedited version or raw files?

No.

Will you re-touch/Photoshop?

No, I do not alter appearances. If there is small edits you want, such as acne, bruises, etc., I can edit them out for a fee.

Can I edit over your edits?

No.

Why? A photographer’s work is a way to showcase their business as well as their craft. Photographers ask that you not edit over photographs because it misrepresents what we do. You have booked me because you like the quality and style of my photography, and I rely on people booking me based on what they see of my work. My photographs are my product and each one is a personal business card. This is a common expectation and I hope you kindly respect this!

What if we are not happy with the final images?

I have never had a client be unhappy with my services, truly. I try to communicate and set clear expectations from the start, and if you’ve read through all of this, you’re already preparing yourself and the best way to ensure a great result of the shoot. If I have delivered what I promised, the service package of choice, and you are not happy with the final outcome, there is nothing I can do outside of performing my professional photography services.

Other things to note:

Images can appear on my website and social media to help promote my services and work. If you do not want this, please make it clear to me with a reason. I market my services through the internet, and that is the best way I can bring in clients. I do have a fee if this is something you want waived - please inquire.
